Casino junkets are a treasured tradition. Imagine getting a free or inexpensive flight and hotel room so that you can go enjoy yourself gambling! They have always existed for the fat cat high roller. But those casino junkets are still around for the average gambler too.
If you have never been on a junket, they are fun and exciting! The best one I went on was to Aruba for the weekend. The weather was gloriously warm, the food was excellent and the room was nice too. To my surprise, the casino itself was not overly large. It was of modest size. It was much like the small hotel casinos I’ve seen in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
For the average US resident you can get a relatively cheap trip to Laughlin or Wendover Nevada from a number of cities. Even if you live in Eau Claire, La Crosse, Madison, Mosinee, Green Bay, Milwaukee. Duluth, Minneapolis, Sioux City, Minot, Bismarck, Grand Forks, Fargo, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Scottsburg, North Platte, Grand Island, Lincoln, Topeka, Wichita, Tulsa, Lawton, Abilene, Amarillo, Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Harlingen, Houston, Killeen, Lubbock, Midland, San Angelo, San Antonio, Missoula, Butte, Great Falls, Billings, Rock Springs, Gillette, Casper, Cheyenne, Hayden Grand Junction, Denver, Colorado Springs, Albuquerque, Seattle, Yakima, Bellingham, Spokane, Pasco, Salem, Eugene, Portland, Redmond or Boise Idaho you can take a first time junket for about $200 or so.
At a minimum, the junkets includes round trip airfare, hotel and hotel transfers including all those pesky taxes, fees, charges and surcharges that usually hike up the price of any trip. If you are a true gambler, you will want to join the players club so that you can earn added freebies like food, entertainment and a free trip the next time.
So get out there and win!
